General Contractors Wanted for Home Improvement Programs in New Jersey

Community Grants, Planning & Housing (CGP&H)  is actively seeking qualified general contractors to work with our many Home Improvement Programs throughout New Jersey.These programs assist low and moderate income homeowners with existing interior and exterior health hazards, safety hazards and code violations.  Individual contracts generally range between $10,000 and $60,000 depending on the program, the municipality and the repairs required.  Major system replacement or repairs may include: Roof, Electric, Heating, Plumbing, Sanitary Plumbing, Structural, Lead Paint Remediation, Weatherization (windows,doors, insulation).

 Contractor Selection

Contractors must bid on each line item in a job.Bids are awarded based on qualifications of bidder, contractor’s capacity, homeowner selection and price.

 Minority,women-owned and Section 3 contractors are encouraged to participate.
